This image ran in the June 3 New Yorker magazine for the fiction ” We didn’t like him” by Akhil Sharma. The story takes place in India, surrounding a boy named Manshu, a Brahmin, who grew up becoming the pundit of the local Hindu temple. It’s a really great read and I should say no more to ruin the plot.

My first piece for the New Yorker magazine!! This image is for an article by Jerome Groopman about how T-cell from our immune system could be the game changer in fighting cancer.

The New Yorker has always been one of my dream client, I can’t possibly tell you how thrilled I was when AD Chris Curry gave me this assignment!! Thank you Chris!

Victo Ngai is a NY based illustrator from Hong Kong. "Victo" is not a typo or a boy, but a nickname derived from "Victoria" - a leftover from British colonization.

Her clients include The New Yorker, The New York Times, Leo Burnett, McDonald's, WIRED, Plansponsor, IHT,The progressive, Tor books and many more. Her work has been in shows in NY, LA, London, Germany, Australia, China and can be purchased from galleries/stores including the Victoria and Albert Museum Store.

Victo was honored with recognition from the New York Times, American Illustration, Communication Arts, Spectrum, 3X3, CMYK, Society of Illustrators New York, LA, and Hong Kong.

In 2012, she was awarded 2 GOLD medals from the Society of Illustrator NY, 1 GOLD medal from the 3x3 Annual Illustration Pro Show and 2 SILVER medals from the Greater China Illustration Award.
