Seamless

Victo Ngai

Think it’s cold enough out? At least you are not staying outside collecting dews from leaves.

As a Hong Kong-nese, I have always fantasized about white xmas and feathery snow. But after living in New York for a few years (especially after going upstate with my parents over the X’mas Break), I l came to the conclusion that winter is best appreciated from a distance, with a blazing fireplace, a warm blanket and a cup of hot tea.

This winter land piece was commissioned by the wonderful AD SooJIn for an article about seamless teamwork. The idea was inspired by this little yellow vintage tin pin I got from Chinatown a while back.

I hope you are staying warm and enjoy this new illustration!

(P.S. I saved this post in the draft last night and as a tech idiot I forgot to change the setting, so the post went alive automatically and prematurely without any text…apologies.)
